Getting It All Done — Right
The efficient use of time, treasure and talent, is the hallmark of a successful business owner and highly effective entrepreneur. Developing a game plan for your workday helps you master the biggest game changer of them all… the ability to manage your time effectively. Richard Branson said; “We all get the same 24-hour day. It is how we choose to use that time that makes all the difference.”
As a print production manager, effective time management and prioritization of daily tasks was my way of life for over 30-years. I bought my first copy of Stephen Covey’s “The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People” in 1989. Since then, I’ve purchased dozens of copies since as gifts for friends, or as required reading for employees and vendors. I’ve gifted Pleiades’ clients with this wonderful book as well.
Why?
The majority of our customers are entrepreneurial business owners. Every project is important, every production schedule critical. I have found that when we are all working from the same playbook, it makes clear communication and meeting expectations easier.
In addition to the habits of successful people, the book shares the importance of a principle-centered life…one of living and working in integrity.
I highly recommend that you make “The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People” a part of your business library. It is available in print and CD.
Until you have a chance to pick up a copy here is the extreme “Cliff Notes Version”
Print and post these seven habits somewhere on your desk where you can read them often through your workday.
