Pleiades Publishing Services, CO.
Sandra Chevalier-Batik co-founded Pleiades Publishing Services in 1992 with her partner Nick Batik. Throughout her 30-year publishing career, Chevalier-Batik has enjoyed responsible assignments in print production and management; training program development; project management; research and development; quality system operations; communications and customer/vendor relations. Sandra has conducted over 300 seminars and workshops and has been a featured speaker at numerous national and international publishing conferences. Sandra has earned a reputation for taking highly complex subjects and presenting them in easily understood modules. Her informal approach helps put attendees at ease and ready to tackle unfamiliar material. Her many years of curricula development and training experience has helped her bring a real-world sensibility to her work as a Co-organizer of the Austin WordPress Meetup Group, the Hands-On WordPress Training Classes; and most recently, the curricula development for the Holy Hormones Menstrual Health Education Project.
In addition to her work with Pleiades Publishing Services, H. Sandra Chevalier-Batik, joined the Holy Hormones Women’s Menstrual Education Project as Principal Research Analyst in 2002. Her original responsibilities focused on the collation of statistical data, developing reports, articles, publications, press releases, training materials, and web content; with a particular emphasis on women’s health issues, the pharmaceutical industry, government funded health programs and private foundation initiatives.
As both Editor-In-Chief of Holy Hormones Journal, and Principle Research Analyst, Chevalier-Batik coordinates a team of researchers and compiles content used by growing network of women’s health special interest groups, government agencies, health professionals, and media outlets around the world. Sandra has had her work published in both print and electronic format and is very familiar with the creative-writing process from both sides of the desk.
Chevalier-Batik served on the founding board, and as President, of the Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce; and as board member and later as President of the National Business Quality Foundation. The Colorado Small Business Development Office appointed Chevalier-Batik as the Minority and Women’s Small Business Development Circuit Rider. In that position she focused on the needs of emerging and small businesses in the metro-Denver area. She was also chosen to participate in a Statewide leadership development program, 50-For-Colorado.
For her work in small business development, Sandra was awarded the SBA Region VIII, M/WBE Procurement Advocate Award, and the SBA Advocate of the Year Award for Women in Business and recognized with the other leaders of the Minority Women’s Chamber Coalition as the 690th Point of Light by President George H. Bush and the Point of Light Foundation.
